Charlie,
My son and saw you last Sat. at Blue Chicago and I wated to tell you how much I enjoyed your show. I grew up in Harvey Il, and I'm one year older than you, grew up as a white boy playing blues on the accordion since around 12, so I was really interested in checking out your whole stage presentation from a zydeco musicians point of view. You got it goin' on Charlie. Good balance of material, interaction, variety between Patricia, you, Doug. I like your harp techniques that stay to the point, but are fattened up just in the right spots. Good switching from harp to guitar to solo's from Doug. He crunches that guitar just at the right time. atricia is a pro like you on the voice dynamics and stage presence. Your drummer, to me, is solid and a great"less is more" player. I meant to tell you and Patricia how much we enjoyed y'all, but you two were talking at that table up fron right after your break & I didn't want to bother you. Keep doin' what you do Charlie & I'll spread the word on you. Let me know if you ever want to play the WC Handy Fest in Henderson in June.
Sincerely in the Blues

Love The Blues, I sing them all the time, I don't where the words come from, they just come. Are we related?, LOL....My dad's a writer, plays chuck berry type piano too, his name's Charlie Love, brother named Charlie too, my brother Tommy Love plays the harmonica and me, I just walk around the house singing the blues. Man, would I love to sit a do a song with you, if only I didn't have stage fright!

Dear Charlie,
I came across your " So Happy I Could Cry " album through a good friend of mine who had visited on of your concerts in Chicago. My friend bought a couple of copies of this album to giva away to his blues-friends back home in Sweden. I happens to be one of those and I must say that your eminent album has spent many hours in my cd-player.
Now down to my question: Do you have any plans on touring in Europe, including the Scandinavian countries and Sweden in particular. We would Love to see Mr. Love on stage in Sweden!!

I had no idea I would like it as much as I did, and you my friend are an awesome performer. I especially loved the song "Charlie Love.net" that was genius. Keep rock'in man cuz you do rock.

Charlie Love and the Silky Smooth Band played our wedding on July 12th, 2008 at the Nature Museum in downtown Chicago and people still cannot stop talking about. They absolutely rocked out for almost four hours with Motown, blues, R&B and rock and thoroughly impressed everyone from our friends in their 20s to family members in their 60s. Charlie Love and his band are the regular band at Kingston Mines on Thursday and Sunday nights and they are the opposite of a cheesy wedding band. They are incredible musicians and literally had the dance floor packed the entire evening. Also, since weddings are not their normal gig, their prices were much more affordable than most of the much less talented full-time wedding bands out there. I cannot recommend these guys highly enough. They were absolutely badass.

Hey Charlie!
I was in Chicago in 1997 and saw you play at the Kingston Mines. That was a dynamite show. I was just a kid from Seattle and had never expereinced anything like that in my life! I have been hooked on the blues ever since! I remember I had left my wallet at the hotel..........spent all my cash on drinks (trying to impress the Chicago ladies) and only had $10 left in my pocket. You let me buy your CD (So Happy I Could Cry)for $10. I still have the CD and play it often. I am going to the Ritzville Blues Festival in Washington state this weekend. We need to get you out here next year! What will it take? Ritzville is nothing like Chicago...population 1,780 daily...5,000 on festival day.......but we could get you some Seattle and Spokane gigs too!

Hi there Charlie,
I can't seem to reach you by email, so that only leaves the guestbook...
don't think you'll remember me (I'm almost positive 'bout that ;)
Anyway, we met in Kinston Mines during my little USA tour in '96 and set in with your great band some nights at the Kingston Mines. I recorded some stuff from those nights and just started listening to it again this week, that's when I decided to look you up on the internet!
So, I'm a guitar player from the Netherlands, Wormer (about 15 minutes from Amsterdam) , 31 years old. I started playing guitar at age 14 and now I make a decent living out of
playing my music. Mostly blues.
Maybe you like to look and listen for yourself. My website is at: www.rubenhoeke.com
Here's a video from my band playing with Dutch guitarist Jan Akkerman (remember Focus?) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iRCCbSQwf5A
I really like to play with you again and come to America. Maybe you can help me out here?
Thanks for answering,
with kind regarts,
Ruben

Hi Charlie
I was attending your very great show friday night at Buddy Guys Legends. Coming from Denmark (Scandinavia), it was a big surprise to hear your music in the best chicago-blues tradition. Since I was a young man I used to listen especially to Junior Wells and other great Chicago bluesmen. Now back in Denmark I fortunately have your CD which I bought during the show. What a great record!!!!

I worked at the Consorta Conference late September, and even though I couldn't stop to really listen to your group since I had to work, I did enjoy what I heard. Sounds like you and the group play at Kingston Mine regularly on Thursdays and Sundays, so I hope to actually get a chance sometime in the near future to just relax and enjoy the band. You gave all of our guest an authentic Chicago style intro, and the comments we heard were very positive. Keep up the great work, and keep having fun!

I have seen many concerts in my 27 years and nothing compares to yours. I saw you at Bluse On Grand in DSM, IA. You were sitting at a table in an all white suit like a normal patron and then you got up and sang. You gave me a cd for free and tried to get me to sing but I was too shy so my dad did and it was awesome. I am now living in San Diego in the Navy and just came from being in Chicago for a year and kick my self in the ass for not going to see you. I do not know if you tour but would love to see you again if you ever come this way. Please send me your tour gide if availible and also if you plan to go back to DSM and when. Thanks

Hey, Charlie!
yeah, you we're awsome here in Kaunas, Lithuania, everyone loved you. Damn, I was at Buddy Guy's concert in Vilnius. It was very good. But I must admit that you we're as twice as good as he was! Your vocals is a thing that, em, how to say, drives insane. And I loved your guitar play. The realy interesting thing was how did you manage to play with our lithuanian guys. They usually play pop! As I said, lucky to have that chance seeing you and waiting forward for one more time! I hope you liked Lithuania, sorry for our "tolerance" and thanks for that boogie dance!

I recently visited Chicago and i got to see you preform at Kingston Mines. It was an amazing show! One song you sang felt like you wrote it just for me to fit my life. It went something like, "you've got to hurt before you heal..." That song along with the rest of your show truely touched my heart. I will never forget it! The crowd seemed so pleased they were chanting for more as you ended the show! WOW, what a night! THANK YOU SO MUCH. I did purchase your CD and i enjoy listening to it often. Next time I'm back in Chicago i do hope to see you play again! Hey, better yet you should expand your tour to come play in Arizona some time. You could really teach Arizona a thing or two about what it really sounds like to hear the true Chicago BLUES! Please do send an email if you do come to Arizona to preform. God bless you and your family. Keep up the amazing preformances!!!
